Target Learning VCD | Intermediate Program
Launching in 2026, our comprehensive two-year Visual Communication Design program builds essential skills in design analysis and practice through Target Learning’s proven, sequential approach. Year 9 students acquire foundational skills while exploring design practice and visual language. Year 10 advances by examining how visual communication influences the Australian identity, including the contributions of Indigenous Australian designers.
Each semester presents three focused Areas of Study that reflect the VCE process in the four fields of design practice: messages, objects, environments and interactive experiences. Students use development, documentation, and presentation drawing methods within the VCD Double Diamond Design Process to convey ideas and communicate information in a range of contexts, purposes, and for different audiences.
Fully aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, the program features model answers, student exemplars, and progressive, anchor-linked tasks.
Target Learning VCD inspires independent learners.

What People say
“In a fast-growing school with a diverse range of learners, Target Learning classroom posters have been a game-changer. The combination of visual representation and concise information has helped me explain abstract and often complicated concepts to students with varied skill levels without them feeling overwhelmed. They’re also great visuals to brighten up your classroom!”
Alexis, Teacher - Loyola College, Melbourne.
"Target Learning is a website that has supported my teaching in Visual Communication Design. The resources are fantastic for both students and teachers alike! Ric Robert’s exam preparation seminar was also an invaluable experience to have with my Year 12s. Even in a remote setting, my students found the session extremely supportive for their exam preparation."
Kat, Teacher - Caroline Chisholm Catholic College, Melbourne.
