The Target Learning Intermediate program in Visual Communication Design comprises two one semester courses for Year 9 and Year 10. Each course has four outcomes designed to introduce students to the four fields of design practice and the key terms and concepts they will need for VCE VCD. Both courses begin with a design theory outcome, introducing students to the vocabulary, knowledge and skills they will need to understand and discuss design as they progress. Outcomes two and three at Year 9 introduce students to the fields of Messages and Objects where they explore the ways ideas and information are communicated and begin technical drawing. Outcomes two and three at Year 10 introduce students to the fields of Environments and Interactive Experiences. They build on their understanding of communication with visual language and are introduced to low-fi prototyping. Each course is completed with an end of semester test. This may be taken in class or used in schools' end of semester examination program.
This program has been mapped to the Victorian Curriculum for VCD, published in 2024. Let's begin. VCD.
